Relais & Châteaux

Blantyre is a proud member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux, an association that sets the gold standard for unique, high-end, award-winning hotels and restaurants around the world. Over 50 years ago, the association was first conceived as a travel itinerary from Paris to the South of France with stops at charming and unique properties along the way. This travel route was affectionately known as La Route du Bonheur – the route of happiness. Today “La Route du Bonheur” stretches well beyond the borders of France and extends to all five continents of the globe.  Blantyre is honored to be the first hotel in the United States awarded membership into the organization.

As a small luxury resort, we work hard to maintain the highest standards of service excellence. We truly appreciate and respect when publications acknowledge our accomplishments.

“More home than hotel,” this Berkshires Tudor manor has individually decorated rooms … “Lush and well-manicured grounds” are perfect for croquet or a picnic. “Staff are super welcoming.” In the Dining Room, meals-which include lamb, pheasant, and game-are “intimate and most memorable.”

“Blantyre may be America’s best inn. And now it’s open for winter, too.” “Summer’s tennis courts have been turned into winter’s skating pond, and groomed ski and snowshoe trails spiderweb over the grounds. There is a snow concierge to assist guest with winter activities, and steaming hot chocolate welcomes returning skiers and skaters.”
